Every Sports-Veritas article starts with an achievement that a federation has officially recognised — a championship, a record or an award. The article exists because the title does. We don't choose who gets covered; every recognised title-holder is invited.

Where the words come from

• The athlete. After the federation declares the title, the athlete is invited to say, in their own words, what it means to them. Their words are quoted exactly as they wrote them.
• The federation. The official record of the achievement, quotes from officials, and background documents about the sport that the federation provides.

Nothing else. We don't add quotes, and we don't invent them. If the athlete chose not to comment, the article says nothing on their behalf.

The role of AI

An AI system arranges this material into a first draft: a factual, local-newspaper-style article in English. It also writes the headline, a short description for search engines and, when the athlete sent a photo, one caption sentence describing only what is visible in it.

The system uses Mistral AI language models, running on Google Cloud in the EU.

The role of people

Every draft is read, edited and approved by a named person at the federation before it is published. That person is the article's author, and their name appears in the byline. If a draft isn't right, they fix it or reject it. Nothing is published by the AI on its own.

Translation

The athlete can write in any language. Words that were not written in English are translated into English for the article, and the article notes that the quotes were translated. The reviewer confirms this note before approving the article.

Known limitations

• Translation can lose nuance. If a translated quote doesn't say what you meant, tell us and we will correct it.
• Articles are published in English only.
• The draft is only as complete as the material behind it: when a federation provides more context, the article is richer.

Corrections and concerns

If something in an article is wrong, or you want your words or photo removed, write to [email protected]. Factual corrections to the official record go through the federation. Corrections are published without undue delay.
